GameStop’s revenue fell year over year even as profitability and earnings improved in the second fiscal quarter of 2026, based on preliminary results reported September 8, 2026. Revenue declined 18.7% to roughly $790.2 million (down from about $972.2 million a year ago), reflecting results from its gaming hardware, software, and related merchandise business across stores and digital commerce channels. Despite the lower sales base, gross profit came in around $345.0 million and gross margin was 43.7%, while operating income was about $160.2 million with operating margin at 20.3%. Net income rose 77.2% to roughly $298.7 million (up from about $168.6 million a year ago). Adjusted EPS was $0.27, up 8.0% from $0.25 a year ago, and came in in line with consensus at actual $0.27 versus estimate $0.27. The company generated operating cash flow of about $62.4 million, and next-period consensus calls for EPS of $0.37 on revenue of $810.6 million.
