Based on preliminary results, Automatic Data Processing beat consensus on both the top and bottom line in the fourth fiscal quarter of 2026, reported July 29, as adjusted EPS of $2.64 topped the $2.59 estimate by 1.9% and revenue of about $5.5 billion edged the $5.44 billion consensus by 0.7%. Revenue rose 6.8% to about $5.5 billion, led by Employer Services, the largest segment, which brought in about $4.0 billion and grew 7.1%; gross margin held at 53% and operating margin was about 21%. Net income rose 7.5% to about $979 million from $910.6 million a year ago, while adjusted EPS increased 16.8% from $2.26. Operating cash flow was $1.31 billion, and ADP repurchased $620.1 million of stock and paid $683.2 million in dividends. For the next period, consensus calls for EPS of $2.75 on revenue of $5.48 billion.
