Amazon and Uber unveil new Prime restaurant delivery benefit

Amazon and Uber have launched a new restaurant delivery benefit for U.S. Prime members, allowing them to order meals powered by Uber Eats directly on Amazon.com and in the Amazon Shopping app. Prime subscribers receive a $0 delivery fee on restaurant orders of $25 or more placed through the new Uber Eats experience within Amazon’s platforms. The integration means members can use their existing Amazon account and payment methods to complete takeout orders without downloading the Uber Eats app or creating an Uber account.

The benefit is available starting November 5, 2026 and is positioned as part of the broader Prime bundle of shipping, savings, and digital services. Restaurant delivery from Uber Eats is presented alongside Amazon’s retail and grocery offerings, enabling Prime members to manage food orders and everyday purchases in a single interface.

Scope of coverage and estimated member savings

Prime members can access the new Uber Eats benefit across nearly ten thousand cities and towns in the United States. The Uber Eats delivery network provides hundreds of thousands of restaurant options, spanning national brands such as Wingstop, Chipotle, and Sweetgreen, regional restaurants, and a variety of small business eateries. Coverage includes major metropolitan areas, suburban communities, and rural locations such as Boardman, Oregon and Berkeley Springs, West Virginia.

Amazon and Uber state that the combination of $0 delivery fees on eligible orders and Prime‑exclusive promotions can add up to potential savings of more than $175 per year for members who use the service. To encourage early adoption, Prime members are being offered $20 off each of their first two Uber Eats restaurant orders of $25 or more within the first 14 days of activation. In addition, Prime Visa (V) cardmembers can earn 5% back on all Uber Eats orders through December 5, 2026, when using the benefit through Amazon.

Integration experience and operational roles

Ordering through Amazon is designed to resemble a standard Amazon purchase flow. Prime members can start by visiting amazon.com/ubereats or by searching “Uber Eats” in the Amazon Shopping app, then select restaurants and menu items, and check out using saved Amazon payment methods. Amazon manages the customer‑facing ordering experience and sends delivery alerts, while Uber Eats issues the final order receipt and coordinates the delivery through its courier network.

The partnership aims to make restaurant delivery feel comparable in convenience to ordering other goods on Amazon. It complements existing Prime features such as free shipping on millions of items, ultrafast delivery options in select areas, and benefits across pharmacy, healthcare, and fuel savings. Members can also share waived Uber Eats delivery fees with one adult in their household through Amazon Family.

Shift from Grubhub and broader partnership context

The launch of the Uber Eats benefit coincides with the end of Amazon’s commercial agreement with Grubhub that had provided Prime members with access to Grubhub+. That arrangement, first struck in 2022 and later expanded, offered Prime members a free Grubhub+ subscription and included a provision for Amazon to increase its equity stake in Grubhub’s former owner. With the new agreement, Uber Eats becomes the restaurant delivery partner embedded in Amazon’s U.S. Prime experience.

The Uber collaboration extends an existing relationship between the companies, which already spans areas such as cloud computing, Zoox robotaxis, and integration of Uber Eats with Amazon’s Alexa+ assistant. For Amazon, the new benefit represents a renewed push into restaurant delivery through partnership rather than operating its own delivery service. For Uber, it opens access to tens of millions of Prime members who are accustomed to home delivery and can now use Uber Eats from within Amazon’s ecosystem.

Key Takeaways

  • 01Amazon is consolidating its U.S. restaurant delivery strategy around a single, deeply integrated partnership with Uber Eats for Prime members.
  • 02The new $0 delivery fee benefit on orders of $25 or more, combined with exclusive promotions, is positioned as a meaningful savings driver for frequent delivery users.
  • 03Ending the Grubhub+ arrangement in favor of Uber Eats marks a strategic shift in Amazon’s partner lineup for food delivery.
  • 04Embedding Uber Eats ordering inside Amazon’s app and website tightens the link between restaurant delivery and broader e‑commerce activity for Prime members.
