Airwallex secures $320 million Series H funding

Airwallex announced on June 25, 2026, that it raised $320 million in a Series H funding round valuing the fintech company at $11 billion. The round was led by returning investor Addition, with participation from Baillie Gifford, Hummingbird, QED Investors, T. Rowe Price, Hedosophia, Haun Ventures, Washington University in St. Louis and Amex Ventures. The company stated that the fresh capital will accelerate product development focused on autonomous finance and agentic commerce, support expansion of its infrastructure and regulatory footprint into new markets, and help scale teams building AI‑native financial software.

Investor Lee Fixel of Addition said Airwallex has built capabilities that are "unusually hard to replicate" and argued that as AI reshapes competition in financial services, the leading players will be those built on top of real financial infrastructure. The company positions the new funding as reinforcing that infrastructure while pushing further into AI‑driven products.

AI‑native products T:0 and Airi unveiled

Alongside the funding announcement, Airwallex introduced two new product initiatives: T:0 and Airi. T:0 is described as an AI‑native financial platform intended to run a company’s full finance function, and it is currently in private beta with broader availability expected in the coming weeks. The platform is designed to handle a comprehensive range of finance tasks within a single system.

Airi is presented as an agentic consumer wallet that will incorporate one‑click checkout and is expected to evolve to support delegated agent payments, spend limits, permission controls and multi‑currency balances. These launches tie directly to the company’s focus on autonomous finance and agentic commerce, using AI agents to manage complex financial workflows and consumer payment experiences.

Strong growth metrics and customer adoption

Airwallex reported that in March 2026 it reached a $1.3 billion annualized revenue run‑rate and $287 billion in annualized transaction volume. The company said it serves more than 676,000 businesses worldwide. It also stated that more than 90% of its revenue comes from customers using more than one Airwallex product, indicating broad uptake of its multi‑product offering among existing clients.

Separate reporting has cited somewhat different tallies for customer numbers and transaction volumes, but all figures point to a large and growing transaction base. Airwallex’s disclosed metrics frame the Series H round as occurring against a backdrop of rapid scaling in both revenue and payments volume.

Leapfin acquisition and regulatory leadership

As part of the June announcements, Airwallex disclosed the acquisition of Leapfin, a company that provides revenue‑recognition and reconciliation capabilities. This acquisition is intended to enhance Airwallex’s ability to support complex financial reporting and reconciliation needs as its transaction volumes grow. Integrating Leapfin’s capabilities aligns with the broader push to build out AI‑enabled, end‑to‑end finance operations for customers.

Airwallex also announced the appointment of Carolyn Renzin as Chief Regulatory and Compliance Officer. In this role, she will lead global regulatory and compliance programs as the company expands into additional markets. Together, the Leapfin acquisition and the senior compliance hire underscore a strategy focused on strengthening both the financial infrastructure and regulatory foundations behind Airwallex’s AI‑native product suite.
