Becton, Dickinson beat consensus on both revenue and adjusted EPS in its preliminary third fiscal quarter of 2026 results, reported Aug. 6, with revenue down about 10% to about $5.0 billion from about $5.5 billion a year ago, topping the about $4.9 billion estimate by about 2%, and adjusted EPS of $3.23 above the $3.14 estimate by about 3% even as it fell about 12% from $3.68 a year ago. Net income dropped about 34% to roughly $377 million from $574 million a year earlier, while gross margin was near 47% and operating margin about 13% on operating income of about $663 million. Revenue was concentrated in the United States at about $2.9 billion, with international sales at about $1.8 billion. The company generated operating cash flow of about $2.1 billion and repurchased about $2.25 billion of stock. Consensus for the next period calls for EPS of $4.11 on revenue of $5.13 billion.
