Adjusted EPS of $2.59 topped the $2.46 consensus by 5.3% and improved from $2.45 a year ago, while net income edged up 0.8% to roughly $323 million from $320.9 million. Gross profit reached about $625.5 million and operating income came in at roughly $425.3 million, with gross margin near 29% and operating margin around 20% as the company kept profitability relatively steady. Operating cash flow totaled $343.5 million, and Vulcan returned capital through about $250.3 million of share repurchases and $67.5 million in dividends. For the next period, consensus calls for adjusted EPS of $3.10 on revenue of $2.28 billion.
