American Electric Power’s second fiscal quarter of 2026 featured a revenue beat but an EPS miss versus consensus, as results reported July 30, 2026 showed adjusted EPS of $1.36 trailed the $1.48 estimate (-8.1%) even as revenue of $5.445 billion topped the $5.343 billion estimate (+1.9%). Revenue rose 7.0% to about $5.4 billion (up from roughly $5.1 billion a year ago), with the largest segment, Ohio Power Company, up 10.1% to about $1.0 billion; among the other disclosed units, AEP Transmission Company, LLC fell 20.8% to roughly $588 million while Appalachian Power Company edged down 3.3% to about $916 million. Operating income was about $2.6 billion, and operating margin was 47.5%. Net income fell 41.8% to roughly $713 million (down from about $1.2 billion a year ago), alongside adjusted EPS down 4.9% from $1.43. The company generated operating cash flow of about $1.8 billion and paid roughly $519 million in dividends during the quarter. Next-period consensus calls for EPS of $2.01 on revenue of $6.453 billion.
