When a single stage of a high‑growth hardware supply chain becomes the limiting factor, past cycles show that equipment suppliers at that chokepoint can benefit disproportionately. In prior bottlenecks around packaging and test, vendors such as Teradyne (TER) and Cohu (COHU) outpaced the broader semiconductor index over multi‑year periods as capacity and capex concentrated on relieving those constraints.

The current AI cycle places companies leveraged to chip testing in a similar position.
