Drone attack hits key Russian Black Sea oil port

Open-source intelligence group Astra assessed that the Sheskharis transshipment complex, a principal loading facility in Novorossiysk, was likely on fire during the incident. Later, Astra reported that the Grushovaya Balka oil depot was burning as well, suggesting that multiple oil-related assets in the area were affected.

Reporting identified the Sheskharis transshipment complex as a key export hub for the region. It was previously described as handling roughly 700,000 barrels per day, underscoring its importance in Russian Black Sea crude flows. However, the immediate impact of the fires on current throughput was not quantified in the initial accounts.

Russian Telegram channels described the incident as a Ukrainian attack, framing the drone strike as part of the broader conflict affecting infrastructure in the region.
