Reshoring Push Lifts Supply-Chain Enabler Trade

Supply chain shocks have re-emerged as a central constraint for manufacturers and policymakers, with extended transit times and recurring bottlenecks underscoring fragility. This renewed stress is driving a structural pivot toward resilience, including reshoring, multi-sourcing, and deliberately higher inventories.

Historically, phases of acute disruption followed by redesign, such as the COVID period from 2020 onward and the U.S.–China tariff cycle starting in 2018, have channeled capital toward firms that enable supply-chain visibility and reconfiguration. In those episodes, global logistics operators and software-driven supply-chain platforms materially outperformed broad equity benchmarks during the build-out phase.

In the current environment, supply-chain software vendors and data platforms are positioned at the center of this investment wave. Manhattan Associates (MANH) and Kinaxis (KXS.TO) provide warehouse management and planning tools that support higher safety stocks, multi-node fulfillment, and concurrent scenario planning, all of which are becoming core to corporate operating models.

Broader enterprise platforms such as SAP SE (SAPd) and data clouds like Snowflake (SNOW) capture the analytics and integration layer as companies seek end-to-end visibility and risk modeling across production, logistics, and procurement. As resilience spending remains multi-year and policy-supported, market pricing increasingly distinguishes between firms exposed to structurally redesigned supply chains and those tied to legacy, single-sourced networks.
