AI and semiconductor stocks are currently lagging after a strong thematic run, yet price action now shows many of these names technically set up for a bounce. The weakness has followed profit taking and valuation concerns rather than a clear break in the broader AI infrastructure thesis.

Within this backdrop, bellwether chipmakers such as NVIDIA (NVDA), Broadcom (AVGO), Qualcomm (QCOM), Arm (ARM), and peers in the wider semiconductor sector have all pulled back relative to prior gains. Similar pauses have historically occurred during ongoing AI and semiconductor bull phases rather than at definitive cycle peaks.

Historical episodes in 2020-2021 and again in late 2023 show that when AI and semiconductor leaders correct 10-25% after extended runs, rebounds often follow once selling pressure exhausts and buyers re-engage around perceived support levels.
