Einride to deploy 500 Tesla Semis

Einride announced plans to deploy 500 Tesla (TSLA) Semi trucks on its Saga AI fleet-intelligence platform, describing the move as the world’s largest Tesla (TSLA) Semi deployment. The company said the initiative is designed to convert signed shipper demand into revenue-generating electric freight capacity across its network.

The rollout will begin in September 2026 and take place in multiple phases over a 24‑month period. Einride stated that the entire deployment will be fully financed through third-party financing solutions, allowing the company to scale its fleet without relying on equity capital.

Einride said the addition of 500 Tesla Semis will triple its deployed electric truck fleet, increasing it from approximately 250 vehicles to about 750. This significant expansion is intended to support existing contracts and growing demand for electric freight services across key corridors.

The company described the deployment as a step toward converting approximately USD 800 million in potential long-term annual recurring revenue under joint business plans with shippers into active, revenue-generating freight capacity. By bringing more electric trucks into operation, Einride aims to align its physical assets with contracted and anticipated shipper volumes.

The 500 Tesla Semis are expected to serve Amazon (AMZN) and other Einride customers across North America. Operations will focus on freight corridors in California, Texas, New Jersey, Illinois and Georgia, expanding what the company describes as one of the region’s largest electric freight networks.

By deploying the vehicles across multiple states and corridors, Einride plans to extend the reach of its Saga AI platform for shippers that seek electric capacity without taking on fleet ownership or operational responsibilities themselves.

Einride highlighted the performance of its Saga AI platform, stating that it has already powered more than 19 million electric miles and 42,000 optimization sessions globally. The platform is designed to enable scaled adoption of electric vehicles for freight by managing routing, utilization and charging operations.

Chief Executive Officer Roozbeh Charli said the deployment is a proof point of Einride’s ability to execute at the scale required by its customers. Dan Priestley, Director of Semi at Tesla, said Einride is at the forefront of sustainable freight and expressed enthusiasm about deepening the relationship through the 500‑truck order.
