Key Points

  • 01Plus500’s H1 2026 revenue rose to $462.9 million, up 12% year-on-year
  • 02Trading income increased 15% to $441.8 million, supporting higher net profit
  • 03Non-OTC business grew about 30% and now represents roughly 15% of revenue
  • 04The board approved $182.5 million in additional buybacks and dividends

Stronger first-half performance

Plus500 delivered higher revenue and profit in the first half of 2026, supported by increased customer activity. Group revenue reached $462.9 million, a 12% year-on-year rise, while trading income climbed 15% to $441.8 million. Net profit attributable to equity holders came in at $151.9 million, and basic earnings per share increased 6% to $2.17.

Core profitability remained stable, with EBITDA of $187.5 million, up 1% year-on-year. This performance implied an EBITDA margin of about 41%, underscoring the company’s ability to convert trading income into earnings despite only modest EBITDA growth.

Non-OTC growth and U.S. expansion

Growth in non-OTC activities was a key contributor to the improved results. Non-OTC operations, which include exchange-traded futures and prediction markets, expanded by around 30% year-on-year in the first half of 2026. This segment now represents about 15% of group revenue and is on track to generate annualised revenue of approximately $140 million in 2026.

U.S. business momentum played a central role in this expansion, particularly within futures and prediction market products. The scaling of these activities has diversified Plus500’s revenue mix away from purely OTC trading, adding an additional growth engine to the group.

Launch of CFTC-regulated prediction markets

During the period, Plus500 advanced its product offering with the launch of a CFTC-regulated B2C prediction markets platform. This includes sports contracts and single stock futures, broadening the company’s suite of tradable instruments. The sports prediction markets product was introduced at the end of June 2026.

These offerings are integrated into Plus500’s broader strategy to expand its presence in regulated derivatives and adjacent markets. The prediction markets initiative adds a new customer proposition while supporting the overall growth of the non-OTC segment.

Shareholder returns and outlook

Alongside its operational performance, Plus500 announced additional shareholder returns totalling $182.5 million. This package consists of $100.0 million in share buyback programmes and $82.5 million in total dividends, reflecting the company’s capacity to return capital while investing in growth.

Management indicated confidence that full-year 2026 revenue and EBITDA will be in line with current market expectations. The company plans to continue investing in customer acquisition and the scaling of its U.S.-focused non-OTC business, aiming to sustain growth while maintaining profitability.

Key Takeaways

  • 01Plus500 combined revenue growth with stable margins, translating higher trading income into increased earnings per share.
  • 02The non-OTC segment has become a meaningful contributor to group performance, signalling successful diversification beyond traditional OTC trading.
  • 03New CFTC-regulated prediction markets, including sports contracts, are helping drive U.S.-led expansion and support the non-OTC growth trajectory.
