Invesco QQQ Trust (QQQ) is currently sitting in a 3‑month weekly base that includes a clear shakeout and subsequent recovery within the range. Price action on the right side of this base has tightened, while the 10‑ and 20‑week moving averages have pinched together beneath spot prices.

This configuration signals volatility compression after an established advance in large‑cap U.S. growth and technology stocks, with the Nasdaq‑100 (NDX) heavyweights still exerting primary influence. Historically, similar multi‑month bases with shakeouts and moving‑average pinches in QQQ have often preceded strong upside resolutions when macro conditions remained supportive.

The October 2022 episode illustrates the potential magnitude: from an intraday low near 254 after a shakeout to a July 2023 high around 387, QQQ advanced roughly 52% over about nine months.
