Robinhood launches chain, AI and token products

Robinhood has launched the public mainnet of Robinhood Chain, an Arbitrum-based Layer-2 blockchain, during a livestreamed event in London on July 1, 2026. The chain is described as designed for applications involving real-world assets and decentralized finance, and is positioned as a core element of the company’s expanding crypto and tokenization strategy.

At launch, Robinhood Chain includes decentralized finance primitives such as automated market makers, and lending and borrowing protocols. The platform is supported by ecosystem partners including Uniswap, Pleiades, Alchemy, BitGo and Chainlink, providing trading, infrastructure, custody and data services across the network.

Alongside the chain launch, Robinhood introduced a new generation of Stock Tokens that enable eligible users to trade tokenized equities 24 hours a day, seven days a week on Robinhood Chain. These tokens are intended to be used within decentralized finance applications, expanding how users can hold and deploy equity-linked exposure.

Robinhood stated that the Stock Tokens are structured as tokenized debt securities. They do not grant legal or beneficial rights in the underlying stocks and are subject to regional availability restrictions, including being unavailable to U.S. persons. The structure and limitations are meant to clarify how the tokens differ from direct share ownership.

Robinhood launched Robinhood Earn, a decentralized lending product focused on USDG, the company’s dollar-backed stablecoin. Eligible U.S. users can lend USDG through a self-custody wallet and earn an estimated annual percentage yield of about 7%.

The lending infrastructure for Robinhood Earn is powered by Morpho, integrating established decentralized lending technology with Robinhood’s stablecoin and user interface. The product is intended for users who want on-chain yield opportunities while maintaining control of their assets through self-custody.

Robinhood is extending its Agentic Trading product to crypto via Agentic Accounts for eligible U.S. users at no additional cost. The service builds on a prior launch for equities and options and is now being adapted to support digital asset trading within the same framework.

Agentic Trading allows customers to connect third-party AI models to Robinhood’s trading infrastructure. The AI can continuously scan data and execute trading strategies, while users set capital allocations and safety guardrails. Customers retain the ability to preview or disconnect AI agents, keeping human oversight central to the process.

In the U.S., Robinhood is also adding tools aimed at more sophisticated crypto traders, including a maker-taker fee model with rates that can be as low as 0% based on trading volume. These changes are presented together with the AI and blockchain launches as part of a broader upgrade to Robinhood’s crypto and trading platform.
