Key Points

  • 01T-Mobile (TMUS) introduces three new T-Mix plans that use flexible “Picks” as a benefit currency
  • 02T-Mix pricing starts at $55 per month for one line on the Standard tier
  • 03Customers can spend Picks on streaming, gaming, AI, travel perks or phones and remix most choices every 90 days
  • 04Higher T-Mix tiers add more Picks, premium data, hotspot allotments and international roaming

T-Mobile launches new T-Mix plan lineup

T-Mobile (TMUS) has introduced a new family of wireless plans called T-Mix that centers on a flexible system of benefits called Picks. The plans, which will be available in November, replace fixed bundles of extras with an allowance that customers can allocate to streaming, gaming, AI subscriptions, travel rewards, device promotions and other perks, or toward new phones. T-Mix is structured in three tiers—Standard, More and Loaded—each including access to T-Mobile’s 5G network and existing member benefits such as T-Mobile Tuesdays and travel-related offers.

T-Mix Standard starts at $55 a month for one line with AutoPay and includes one Pick. T-Mix More costs $75 a month for one line and includes two Picks, while T-Mix Loaded is priced at $95 a month for one line and provides three Picks. Pricing for multiple lines rises with added benefits; for example, T-Mix More runs $130 for two lines, $155 for three and $180 for four, while T-Mix Loaded costs $160 for two lines, $200 for three and $240 for four.

How the new Picks system works

Under T-Mix, Picks act as a kind of currency that customers can use on a shared-account basis. Adding lines increases the total number of Picks, and those Picks can be applied to services that cover the whole account, such as a single Netflix subscription for a family. Unused Picks do not roll over from one 90‑day period to the next.

Customers can typically remix their Picks every 90 days in the T-Life app. T-Mobile sends a text when a 10‑day change window opens, and existing selections continue if no changes are made. Changes outside the scheduled window are possible but may incur a small fee, and T-Mobile notes that customers may need to cancel existing standalone subscriptions themselves to avoid duplicate charges when migrating services into T-Mix.

Perks, phones and trade-offs in T-Mix

Picks can be used for a wide range of partner benefits, including Netflix, Hulu, Apple TV, ESPN’s Unlimited streaming service, Xbox Game Pass, YouTube Premium, Apple Music, Paramount+, Google’s Gemini AI, Pandora, SiriusXM, DoorDash and Delta SkyMiles. T-Satellite roaming, optimized video calls and other device-related promotions can also be funded with Picks. Ad‑free Netflix requires three Picks and ESPN Unlimited requires four Picks.

Phones also draw on the same pool of Picks as perks, creating a trade-off between device upgrades and additional services. An iPhone costs two Picks and an iPhone Pro costs three Picks, with those Picks typically locked for the length of a three‑year payment plan before they become available again. For example, a four‑line account on the T-Mix More plan receives seven Picks, which is not enough to fund a new iPhone on every line at the same time.

Data, roaming and plan features

Beyond the flexible benefits, each T-Mix tier includes specific network and data features. T-Mix More offers unlimited premium data, 60 GB of mobile hotspot use, 15 GB of high-speed roaming in Canada and Mexico, 5 GB of high-speed roaming in many other countries and support for up to 4K video streaming. T-Mix Loaded increases these allowances to 250 GB of mobile hotspot data, 30 GB of high-speed roaming in Canada and Mexico and 15 GB of high-speed roaming in many other countries, along with up to 4K streaming.

All three T-Mix plans include ongoing weekly T-Mobile Tuesdays perks. T-Satellite roaming, delivered via a partner network, is not bundled in the Standard plan but can be added as a Pick, while optimized video calling is available as an add‑on in lower tiers and already included in T-Mix Loaded. T-Mobile positions the T-Mix structure around the themes of choice, flexibility and value in how customers assemble their plan benefits.

Plan flexibility and absence of price guarantees

T-Mix plans allow T-Mobile to adjust benefits and the number of Picks each benefit requires. The terms state that these changes can take effect in the following quarter, and customers will be asked once a year to reselect their benefits. T-Mix does not come with a price guarantee, and the lineup is being introduced shortly after T-Mobile reached a settlement related to earlier price guarantee offers from 2017.

Older plans will no longer be sold online, although they remain available in stores for now. T-Mobile has also tested T-Mix in select Kansas City locations since October 1, observing that many customers initially held back some Picks to decide on benefits with family members or to save capacity for future phone launches. The T-Mix rollout marks one of the first significant consumer initiatives under CEO Srini Gopalan.

Key Takeaways

  • 01T-Mix replaces fixed perk bundles with a shared benefit currency, giving accounts more control over which extras they prioritize.
  • 02Using the same pool of Picks for both phones and services introduces a clear trade-off between frequent device upgrades and richer subscription bundles.
  • 03Higher-priced T-Mix tiers combine more Picks with significantly larger hotspot and roaming allowances, targeting heavier data users and travelers.
  • 04The ability to remix Picks quarterly adds flexibility, but the lack of a price guarantee and T-Mobile (TMUS)’s ability to change Pick values add longer-term uncertainty.
