  • 02The annual-only bundle is nearly $100 cheaper than buying both memberships separately

Walmart unveils combined membership offering

Walmart (WMT) has launched a new bundled membership that combines Walmart+ and Sam’s Club Plus for $120 per year, effective Oct. 20, 2026. The plan is positioned as a single, cross-banner membership that brings together benefits from both the mass merchant and its warehouse club subsidiary. The bundle is available only on an annual basis, with no monthly payment option and no trial period.

The company said the $120 price is nearly $100 lower than the cost of purchasing Walmart+ and Sam’s Club Plus separately. Both Walmart (WMT) and Sam’s Club will continue to offer their existing standalone memberships, giving customers a choice between separate or combined plans.

Benefits across Walmart and Sam’s Club

The joint membership grants customers access to Sam’s Club warehouse locations while retaining the core features of Walmart+. Members receive free delivery from both Walmart and Sam’s Club, subject to availability, restrictions, and program terms. Promotional materials specify order minimums, including a $35 minimum for scheduled Walmart orders and a $50 minimum for Sam’s Club delivery.

In addition to delivery perks, the combined plan includes a choice of a streaming subscription to either Peacock or Paramount+. Members can also access fuel savings and earn 2% Sam’s Cash on eligible Sam’s Club purchases, extending the warehouse club’s rewards structure to users of the joint offer.

Upgrade paths for existing members

Walmart set out several ways for current members to move into the new bundle. Annual Walmart+ members can switch to the combined plan for an additional $22 per year. Sam’s Club Plus members are able to activate Walmart+ at no extra charge, effectively turning their existing warehouse club membership into the bundled package.

For Sam’s Club members who do not yet have Plus status, there is an option to upgrade to Sam’s Club Plus for $60 more and receive Walmart+ included. Customers who already maintain both memberships can link their accounts to access the discounted combined pricing. These options are designed to bring different member types into the new structure without requiring them to restart their memberships from scratch.

Employee benefits and strategic focus

Walmart stated that U.S. field associates at both Walmart and Sam’s Club will receive the joint membership as part of their employee benefits. Extending the bundle to staff broadens access to the combined services and embeds the offer within the company’s workforce programs.

The retailer framed the launch as an effort to emphasize value and convenience for shoppers heading into the holiday season, at a time when consumers are contending with higher gas and food prices. By integrating delivery, fuel savings, streaming, and rewards into a single annual package, Walmart is also seeking to strengthen and deepen its membership revenue base while giving customers more reasons to consolidate spending within its ecosystem.

Key Takeaways

  • 01The new $120 annual bundle is structured to make holding both Walmart+ and Sam’s Club Plus more economical than separate memberships.
  • 02Cross-banner benefits such as Sam’s Club warehouse access, delivery from both chains, and streaming are combined into a single plan.
  • 03Defined upgrade paths ease migration for existing Walmart+ and Sam’s Club customers, reducing friction in adoption of the joint offer.
