WiseTech shifts chair role from founder White

WiseTech Global has implemented an immediate change at the top of its board, with co‑founder Richard White stepping down as executive chair. The company said independent director Raelene Murphy has been appointed chair, effective immediately. By retaining White as chief innovation officer, WiseTech maintains continuity in oversight of its technology and product roadmap. The structure leaves operational and growth execution responsibilities with the senior management team while assigning non‑executive board leadership to Murphy.

In the ASX statement, White said that recent personal media attention is creating an unnecessary distraction from the strength of WiseTech’s business. He indicated that the senior management team should be singularly focused on executing the company’s growth strategy. The leadership change is positioned as a way to reduce distractions and keep attention on the business.

White also stated that he strenuously and unequivocally denies recent allegations in the media. He added that personal attacks have the potential to encourage short selling, highlighting his concern that external controversy could affect perceptions of the company and its stock.
