Boeing’s adjusted EPS missed consensus even as revenue topped expectations, and the company said the figures are based on preliminary results for the second fiscal quarter of 2026, reported July 28. Revenue rose 8% to about $24.6 billion from about $22.8 billion a year ago, ahead of the about $24.3 billion consensus by 1.2%, while gross margin held near 9.8% as gross profit came in at about $2.4 billion. Commercial Airplanes remained the largest segment at about $9.2 billion, up 13%, and Defense, Space & Security added about $7.6 billion, up 20.7%. Adjusted EPS was -$0.76 versus the -$0.34 estimate, about -123.5%, though that improved 38.7% from -$1.24 a year earlier; net income was a loss of about $444 million, up 27.3% from a loss of about $611 million a year ago. Operating cash flow was about $1.36 billion, and Boeing paid about $86 million in dividends. Consensus for the next period calls for EPS of -$0.12 on revenue of $24.97 billion.
