Murphy USA beat on both the top and bottom line in the second fiscal quarter of 2026, reported Aug. 5 based on preliminary results, as revenue rose 36% to about $6.8 billion and EPS of $11.23 topped the $9.95 estimate by 12.9%. Marketing drove the quarter with about $4.82 billion of revenue, up 6.5%, and the broader petroleum product sales lines also moved higher, though they were not the main source of the upside. Gross profit came in at about $746.5 million, with gross margin near 11% and operating margin around 4.5% after operating income of about $304.9 million. Net income rose 43.6% to about $209.1 million from $145.6 million a year ago, while EPS was up from $7.36 a year earlier. On the cash side, operating cash flow was $235.0 million, the company repurchased $82.3 million of stock, and it paid $11.8 million in dividends. Consensus for the next period calls for EPS of $8.09 on revenue of $5.76 billion.
