Sonoco Products beat consensus on both the top and bottom line in preliminary results for the second fiscal quarter of 2026, reported July 22. Revenue of about $1.9 billion topped the $1.88 billion consensus by 0.5% but was down ~1% from $1.91 billion a year ago, while adjusted EPS of $1.51 topped the $1.47 estimate by 2.7% and was up from $1.37 a year earlier; gross margin was near 21% and operating margin about 10%. The Consumer Packaging segment, the largest, rose 2.9% to about $1.1 billion, while revenue was concentrated in the United States at about $806.1 million and EMEA contributed about $698.1 million. Net income fell ~79% to about $104.9 million from $493.4 million a year ago, operating cash flow came in at $300.6 million, and the company paid $53.4 million in dividends. For the next period, consensus calls for EPS of $1.94 on revenue of $2.11 billion.
