Vertex Pharmaceuticals beat revenue expectations but missed on adjusted EPS in the second fiscal quarter of 2026, reported Aug. 3, as revenue rose 12.5% to about $3.3 billion from about $3.0 billion a year ago, above the about $3.2 billion consensus by +3.2%, while adjusted EPS of $4.73, up 4.6% from $4.52 a year ago, came in below the $4.74 estimate by -0.2%. Gross margin held near 85% and operating margin near 37%, and net income rose 6.5% to about $1.1 billion from $1.03 billion a year ago. Vertex generated operating cash flow of $1.13 billion and repurchased about $470 million of stock. Consensus for the next period calls for EPS of $4.80 on revenue of $3.40 billion.
