Kadant Inc. beat expectations on both the top and bottom line in the second fiscal quarter of 2026, reported Aug. 4, based on preliminary results. Revenue rose 23% to about $313 million, above the $299.2 million consensus by 4.6% and up from $255.3 million a year ago, with gross profit around $137 million and gross margin near 44%. Adjusted EPS of $3.42 topped the $2.94 estimate by 16.3% and was up from $2.31 a year ago, while net income increased 24% to about $32.5 million. Operating income came in at roughly $50.9 million, with operating margin near 16%, as operating cash flow totaled $21.9 million. Kadant also repurchased $4.9 million of stock and paid $5.0 million in dividends. Consensus for the next period calls for EPS of $3.52 on revenue of $312.2 million.
